Today's recipe is adapted from Vittles and bits.  Thank you, Maggie for the recipe!!

Baked Apple Slices
2 large apples, cored
1 medium lemon, cut in half
2 tablespoons sugar (optional)
1 teaspoons cinnamon

Arrange baking racks in the top and bottom thirds of the oven.
Preheat oven to 200ºF.
Prepare two rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper. With a mandoline or sharp knife, thinly slice apples crosswise about 1/8-inch.
Place apple slices in a single layer on prepared sheets, and sprinkle lemon juice from each lemon half on every slice.

Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.  Put contents into a sieve and sprinkle evenly over apple slices.
Bake for 2 hours or until apples are dry and crisp. about 2 hours.

Remove from oven and let slices cool completely before transferring to a sealed container for up to 3 days.

I used Braeburn apples, and I think it would be fun to try this with different ones, experiencing the different flavors.
Maggie suggested using canola oil spray, but I neglected to do that using the lemon juice instead.
I really liked these.  They make a great snack and I think little kids would like them.  My older kids did.
I rate everything I bake on a scale of 1-4 with 4 being the best and these Baked Cinnamon Apple Slices earned 3 rolling pins.
I probably should have left them in the oven so that they could become a little crisper, but I was impatient, and we were going out.  They were a little chewy, and had somewhat of a crunch to them.  I think I may make some more tomorrow as the ones I made today are completely gone.
Thank you so much for coming by and taking the time to visit!!
Happy baking!
